Press release on updates to court COVID safety protocols
Chief Justice Amends Health and Safety Protocols,
Requires Certain In-Person Hearings
TALLAHASSEE – Chief Justice Charles T. Canady today amended an existing order about health and safety protocols in state courts. The updated order makes changes reflecting current public health conditions. It provides for the voluntary use of face coverings in courthouses and requires Baker Act and Marchman Act hearings to be conducted in person.
The changes to temporary health and safety protocols are made to “address the most recent developments and continue to mitigate the effects of the public health emergency on the judicial branch and its participants ….”
Today’s order takes effect on November 15.
