Start a healthy habit on Bike to Work Day, March 8

Miami Dade Parks’ 11th Annual Bike305 Bike to Work Day Led by Mayor Levine Cava to Feature Tour de France Winner Greg LeMond as Honorary Ride Marshal

Join Mayor Daniella Levine Cava as she kicks off this year’s Bike305 Bike to Work Day on Friday, March 8, encouraging residents in all municipalities to ride a bicycle to work, school, and fun destinations for a healthy way to live life. This year, the event will feature TOUR DE FRANCE legend GREG LEMOND as the Honorary Ride Marshal.

The ride will begin at 7 a.m. from Crandon Park Marina and consists of a police-escorted 6.4 bike mile ride to the Stephen P. Clark Government Center. There will be a shorter 3.4-mile route starting from the underpass of the William Powell Bridge heading west on the Rickenbacker Causeway for those choosing not to ride the bridge. Riders are encouraged to arrive early.

In addition, the City of North Miami Beach will be recognized as the 2024 Bike305 Municipality of the Year during closing ceremonies at Government Center, and LeMond will offer closing remarks.

Bike305 started in 2013 with only six municipalities and has now grown to include 27 municipalities, all of which collaborate in creating bike safety programs for the community, and in advocating for healthy lifestyles and equitable access to transportation alternatives for all residents.  Bike 305’s Bike to Work Day is a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate to the public that riding a bicycle is not only a fun and healthy activity, but also a great way to travel to work, school, parks, or other destinations without using a car.

Volunteers 16 years old and older are invited to support Bike to Work Day. Volunteers will be helping set-up the event, organizing riders and engaging with participants. All volunteers will receive an official event t-shirt, and community service hours letters are provided upon request. You can sign up by visiting Park Link
