Miami-Dade prepares employees for transition to Independent Constitutional Offices

In response to the passage of Amendment 10 to the State Constitution by Florida voters on Nov. 6, 2018, Miami-Dade County is preparing for a significant shift in governance effective January 7, 2025. This change will see five constitutional offices – Sheriff, Supervisor of Elections, Property Appraiser, Tax Collector, and the Office of the Clerk of the Court and Comptroller – operate independently from county government.

Recognizing the crucial role employees play in delivering services, the county is committed to mitigating the impact through clear, frequent, and thoughtful communication. Affected employees are encouraged to stay informed and updated through dedicated informational resources found on the Constitutional Offices website. Visit the employee information page for more information.

Additionally, inquiries regarding how the implementation of Constitutional Offices will affect your employment with Miami-Dade County can be submitted online. Visit the Constitutional Offices – Ask a Question form to submit your questions. Our team will work diligently to provide you with a response in a timely manner.
