Bill Bird Marina will experience closures

Construction on a new Miami-Dade Parks improvement project at Bill Bird Marina began on Friday, May 13. The construction will affect the traffic pattern for cars with boat trailers entering and exiting the marina. Parking for boaters will be limited to 34 spots during the construction period. Please expect early boat ramp closures as the project commences.

Part of this project includes removing the current entrance to Haulover Park and establishing a new entrance for cars and boat trailers through a signalized entrance. Please follow posted traffic pattern for entrance to the boat ramp and beach parking lots. As indicated, we expect traffic delays and reduced access to the boat ramp during this time.

Additional improvements being made to the marina include:

  • Raising the boat ramp and parking lot 3 feet to alleviate flooding
  • Installing floating docks at the boat ramp
  • Adding 291 new parking spaces

Construction is expected to be completed in the summer of 2023.
