Inside Pharrell & David Grutman's Goodtime Hotel In Miami Beach | Open Door | Architectural Digest

Today AD brings you to The Goodtime Hotel in Miami Beach to meet up with owners Pharrell Williams and David Grutman for an all-access tour. Working in tandem with renowned designer Ken Fulk, Pharrell and David have curated a boutique environment so full of vibrance and artistic energy that the hotel becomes the destination, not just a place to toss your bags and sleep. Lounging at the pink-hued Strawberry Moon Restaurant, Bar, and Pool Club while sipping a “Purple Reign” cocktail? Now that sounds like a hit.

  1. Bubble gum pastiche at best. The way they talked about the hotel sounded like they were hyping Fyre Festival – one doesn't simply hype a hotel… they Do What Naomi Did. There are countless spaces offering a genuine throwback to the art deco era which are far more instagram'ble, comfortable and beautiful (the right way).

  2. The cringe for me is from the commenters criticizing my boys. They are good vibes and they want people to have a POSITIVE EXPERIENCE and y’all out here with the criticism don’t pass the vibe check. He said Margot Tenenbaum. He paid tribute to Wes Anderson. The cute thing about saying “moment” is that he’s probably hearing his designer use the term and he admires the designer for bringing their wholesome creative project to life for them. The design is not a trend that will vanish in 6 months. Watch any Wes Anderson movie. Look at mid century Cuban decor. they even considered the moon phase when naming their cabana. If you knew Pharrell you wouldn’t have these criticisms. My boy is all good genuine vibes. He is one of the most BRILLIANT minds this world has ever known! They are in MIAMI. You really shouldn’t speak on things you don’t know about.

  3. Those people commenting about the “instagrammable moment” comment that they find cringey are obviously arent from Miami Beach area. You arent their target market. Most Miami / Miami Beach people are all about the looks and showing off and IG show-off is definitely one of them. I am pretty sure in your lives, you have been to places because the interior of the place looks beautiful, or the design is top notch. That is the same for this hotel. Their captured target market are all about the looks. Shallow for you, but money for them. I mean, I am not even active in Instagram, but boy, insta people are all about showing off what they’ve got. This hotel is definitely for those IG hungry clienteles.
